Magnificent Magnolias (Linda's Row 2)

Linda, I just loved the colours of your first row, so pretty and feminine.

SO... I was thinking "Shabby Chic" when I bought the pink check and the soft pistachio green and the spot, but on having a second look your colours were much brighter. My original plan was to do a row of pink Magnolias, but after having a play I think I will let you choose. I have numbered the blocks, I would personally go with blocks 3&4 as they seem to meet your colours better.

For those who are not aware, Linda's first book did not arrive and I am still waiting on her second one, so I have had to go on the pics that she emailed me and what is on the blog, no notebook with fabric scraps, etc. to give me an idea... ;]

This Magnolia Bud pattern is from Quilter's Cache http://www.quilterscache.com/BlocksbySizeA.html it is an 8" paperpieced pattern, but I have chosen not to do the paperpiecing, and pieced it in the conventional way.

Here are the pics Linda, what do you think?

On looking at the different blocks I thought it might be nice to have:
  • a row of buds showing different colour gradations, or
  • 2 blocks alternating the colours (eg. blocks 3 & 4) or
  • 5 blocks using the colours you see but all different or
  • 1 row with all blocks the same

You are spoilt for choice...after having seen the pics, and typed this I now have a better idea of what would look good. BUT if you have a preference I will be happy to go with that.

Am having no luck with uploading the pics will put them up on Flickr and you can look at them there Linda. :( Try here http://www.flickr.com/photos/cookie_hope/

Wow, Hope, they are all perfect. Exactly the look I was looking for. Go ahead and surprise me. Of the three blocks in a row I prefer the middle one, I think it's number 4 in the individual ones.

I'm very disappointed and annoyed that the book still hasn't arrived. I sent a hot potato to someone else at the same time and that hasn't arrived either. I expected both would be there by Tuesday, perhaps Wednesday to allow for Easter mail. The week before mail posted at that box took only a day and half to arrive.
