FARMGIRLS FIRST ROW

Hi there all you rowers,

Thought I would give this blogging a go and get a pic of my first row up so that Di can see what she is in for. I have decided to go with the red tones again as I am thinking that I will use my red blocks from the 6 1/2 in swap as a border on this quilt. My theme fabric is the white and red one and a fat eight will be available for each row, if more is required give me a buzz as I have plenty (got a roll with about 8 metres on it from spotlight for only $6-). Colours have to be red, red white or with a smattering of black in them, no solid blacks, brights, other colours or checks please. Will have all this info in my notebook so do not stress Di.

Row 3 is paper pieced. If you'd like instructions for paper piecing this link was provided on the forum by Lynda :) Paper piecing. I have also added this link to the side bar (under the Rules) so that it will be easier to find once this message has scrolled down the page and into the archives. If anyone else has any links they think will be useful please let me know and I will add them.

Have a go.

Once you are registered as a member of this group please feel free to post test messages and photos - have a play - we don't start for real until after Christmas so that gives us an opportunity to get some practice in (apart from Ted who will be finished by then ;-)) Only kidding - just jealous :)

I am happy to be responsible (get her) for running the maintenance of the blog but I don't want it to be my blog - my real blog is here.So the more people who post messages here the happier I will be.

I have added a couple of links to the sidebar to help us get to the forum and the MSN site quickly. If anyone has any ideas of links that would be helpful for our row by row challenge please let me know.

First steps

Hi :) I have sent the first couple of invitations to join this blog group - if you'd like to join please send me an email, pm through the craft forum or leave a comment here with your email address (this will be public if left on the blog) and I'll send you one too :)

Once you are a member of the group you will be able to write posts, add photographs and links to other websites, give each other help and ask questions. Go on you know you want to join in really :)

Ted gets in there first :)

This is just a test to illustrate how a blog for our row by row swap might look. If everyone is happy with it we will keep it. Please let me know what features you'd like for this blog.

Here is Ted's log cabin block. The finished blocks are 8" x 8" and the row is 40" long. These are finished sizes - a 1/4" seam allowance is also added so the row in the photo actually measures 40 1/2"
